The beginning of the 2009 NASCAR season people were saying, “Sam Hornish Jr needs to prove himself this year.” And, for the most part many people believe he is making progress. Sam did indeed have better numbers in 2009 then he did in 2008. He was shut out of two races as well as the top-10 in 2008. In 2009 Sam competed in all 36 NASCAR Cup Series races and had two top-5 and seven top-10 finishes to boot.
Sam Hornish Jr will go into the 2010 NASCAR season as the active driver with the most crashes in 2009 and 2008. Hornish was involved in 20 crashes each of the previous two seasons.
Sam Hornish Jr is not a reliable driver I would advise to have on your fantasy NASCAR team. That being said, his worth is ultimately going to be relative to the other drivers he is grouped with in your particular fantasy NASCAR game. Sam just may be the driver to pick for your team because he is the best of a particular group of drivers or at a specific salary range. Use each track cheat sheet on this site to see where Sam ranks accordingly.
