2010 Fantasy NASCAR Draft Kit: Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick

Kevin HarvickHappy Harvick? Not so much in the 2009 NASCAR Cup season. Kevin spent much of his worst Cup Series season in seven years also fielding rumors and speculation that he wanted out of his final year of contract at Richard Childress Racing. Harvick had about the worst ‘racing luck’ I’ve seen in years. He finished down 3+ laps in 10 of the first 27 races. Most as a result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Kevin Harvick had an average finish of 22nd during the first 27 races of the 2009 NASCAR Cup Series season. During the final nine races his performance was much improved and he averaged a 14th place finish. The whole RCR team showed big improvements as the 2010 NASCAR season wound down.

Fantasy NASCAR Forecast

Kevin Harvick has the potential to do well on your fantasy team. He has won races at Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis, Bristol, Phoenix, Watkins Glen, Richmond, New Hampshire & Daytona. That’s the whole gamut of NASCAR tracks. If RCR continues on the improvements they made at the end of the 2009 NASCAR season then Harvick may be out of the woods and back to bring consistent points to your fantasy NASCAR team. Harvick should have a low ‘purchase’ price on stock market/salary cap games at the start of the 2010 season and may be worth the risk by paying off with big dividends.
