Jimmie Johnson is now a four-time NASCAR Cup Champion (and four-in-a-row to boot). It is surprising to look at his average finish of 11.1 and realize two other drivers had a better season average finish. Johnson’s ability to close the deal in the Chase is his ace in the hole. Four Chase race wins with an average finish of 6.9 reveals the Chase tracks play to his strength.
Every year Johnson wins the Championship it becomes more improbable that he will win the next. Right? Who can really tell. Jimmie Johnson is in his prime. His crew chief, Chad Knaus, is one of the best there is. Hendrick Motorsports is THE POWERHOUSE in NASCAR. One thing I can guarantee, it may not be 2010 that Jimmie wins his next Championship, but win again he will.
If you get Jimmie Johnson on your fantasy NASCAR team you are truly lucky. I wouldn’t bet the farm on him and put all my eggs in the Jimmie Johnson basket, but he will guarantee you lots of points. If you are lucky enough to get an early draft selection in your fantasy league, then by all means snag Johnson up.
