2010 Fantasy NASCAR Draft Kit: Jamie McMurray

Jamie McMurray

Jamie McMurray2009 was not Jamie McMurray’s worst NASCAR Cup season. But darn near. Jamie is a likeable guy and a great image for any sponsor. But, his performance in NASCAR’s elite series seems just like it is the performance of a guy that came about too rushed in to the series. Which, if you know Jamie’s story, is exactly what happened when he subbed for an injured Sterling Marlin way back in 2002. During three years with Chip Ganassi and now four with Roush Racing, Jamie has never really given any significant results.

Jamie moves over to the #1 car of Earnhardt Ganassi Racing vacated by Martin Truex Jr for the 2010 NASCAR season. It’s an ironic and odd reunion with Chip Ganassi after leaving the team four years ago for greener pastures.

Fantasy NASCAR Forecast

I’ve never had much luck with Jamie McMurray on any of my fantasy NASCAR teams. When he appears to get hot I’ve picked him up only to have him go cold again. If you ‘get stuck’ with Jamie you probably won’t find much use for him. I hate to be so negative on him, but heck, Jamie even gets beat by a guy racing him in reverse.
