Denny Hamlin’s 2009 NASCAR season had highs and lows, but not the consistency to keep streaks going. Hamlin won 4 races in 2009 and had 4 second-place finishes. When the Joe Gibbs Racing driver was “on” he was brilliant! His overall season average driver rating was 102.36, second only to Jimmie Johnson.
Denny Hamlin’s win at the 2009 Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 in Pocono snapped a 50-race winless streak. Just days after his 91-year old grandmother died Hamlin rolled into victory land for an emotional victory celebration.
Going through the statistics and especially the NASCAR Loop Data while preparing this site, the possibility that 2010 could be the year of Denny Hamlin became evident to me. I give Hamlin my pick to be the 2010 NASCAR Champion. That said, I think he is pure gold to have on your fantasy NASCAR team.
