Casey Mears’ 2009 NASCAR season was by most measurements as good and almost better then his previous. He completed the year with no DNFs, which is his best and quite an accomplishment especially considering his season-end NASCAR Loop Data ‘Average Running Position’ of 23rd. That area of the race track is usually a hot-bed for wrecks. Mears also had an average finish position of 19.8 which is usually good for a better season ending rank of 24th. But not in 2009.

Casey Mears has been released as a driver in the Richard Childress Racing stable. And, it is official that he will not be racing the #07 car at the Daytona 500 as speculated.
