Brian Vickers 2009 NASCAR season can be considered his best yet. Since joining Red Bull in 2007 and only making 23 of 36 races, Brian has continued to deliver more consistent results. 2009 also marked the first time in his career that he made the Chase. Vickers won 6 poles in the 2009 season. His poor performance in the Chase was disappointing. Three Chase races with finishes in the 30’s and three more in the 20’s made him a non-contender. Still, his mid-season stretch of 10 races with an 11th or better finish showed promise for his continued rise up the NASCAR charts.
Brian Vickers not only won the first race for the young Red Bull Racing team and their fast Toyota’s, but he did it from the pole position at Michigan in the Summer of 2009.
The Team Red Bull organization has continued to improve each year. Brian had some stellar races leading up to the Chase and I’m not going to let his Chase performance detour me from expecting even more from him in 2010. Vickers is a ‘Dark Horse’ at many tracks and a solid driver to have in your fantasy lineup.
