Keselowski edges out Newman for top B-group driver for Kansas
Using the Statistics Wizard I looked at stats for the last three Kansas Speedway races combined with this year's races at Kentucky Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway. Brad Keselowski just edges out Ryan Newman as your best B-Group option for Yahoo! fantasy racing.
Brad and Ryan's stats for average start, finish, total points earned, running position, and percentage of quality passes are actually near identical. Brad did have 70.04% of his laps running inside the top fifteen versus 47.72% for Ryan. But don't let that sway you too strongly! Brad's average running position was 12th vs. Newman's 15th. Again, nearly identical stats. Newman's 15th just puts him on the bubble.
The real deciding factor may come down to momentum. Over the last five races he has an average finish of 9th and 179 fantasy points earned whereas Newman's averages are 17th and 138, respectively. Finally, Brad won the Kansas race earlier this year.
By the way, keeping with the near identical stats thread, Newman qualified 11th and Keselowski qualified 12th for the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.
