Kevin Harvick is your sleeper A Group driver in Yahoo! Fantasy Racing

Kevin Harvick

Out of the nine A Group drivers in the Yahoo! Fantasy Racing game, Kevin Harvick may be your best sleeper pick for collecting points. I looked at Loop Data stats over the previous four Las Vegas races and Harvick has the next to worst average starting position (22nd) and he only led 11 laps over that four race span. His average driver rating is below 100 and he only occupied a top fifteen running position 69.75% of the time. However, when it comes down to the end of the race, "The Closer" has the second best average finish (9th, compared to 8th by Carl Edwards) and he has the most points scored (494) by 40 points! Considering the 29 car's strong performance and 2nd place finish in Phoenix last week, I wouldn't hesitate to use Harvick on my roster for this week's race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Kevin Harvick has best finishes last two Martinsville races

Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick is one of two drivers (Kyle Busch is the other) that has finished in the top-5 the last two races at Martinsville Speedway. Harvick won the Spring race and finished 3rd last Fall. Kevin generally has a top-12 starting position at Martinsville and will be looking to start towards the front this weekend as well to gain every advantage possible to close the points gap between him and Carl Edwards.

  • Brian Vickers
  • Bobby Labonte
  • Clint Bowyer

Kevin Harvick best over last three Talladega races

Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick is the only driver with three straight top-5 Talladega finishes in the last three races here. He has finishes of 5th, 2nd and 1st from the most recent Talladega race back. Harvick's performance at Talladega was mediocre in the five races prior to the last three where he averaged a 25th place finish.

Kevin Harvick struggles in race trim at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick and crew chief Gil Martin could not get the #29 car to feel good in race trim for Kevin in the first practice at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. They switched to qualifying trim towards the end of practice and scored 11th on the speed chart. Harvick only ran 20 laps in practice which was the fewest of all the Chase drivers.
