Can it get any better for Jimmie Johnson?

Jimmie Johnson and the whole #48 team are no doubt elated and riding a confident high after getting back their 25-points and crew chief, Chad Knaus, freed from suspension this week. Adding more to that feeling is the fact that Johnson is not only coming off of three top-10 finishes in a row but also that he has not finished outside of the top-10 at Fontana since 2006! That's nine straight races at Auto Club Speedway with an averaged finish of 2.6 and includes four wins.

Jimmie Johnson wrecks in practice #3 at Las Vegas

Jimmie Johnson joins the growing list of drivers to tear up their car during practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. On his first lap of practice #3 Johnson came out of the corner high and smacked the wall hard tearing up the rear-end of his car. Johnson will go to a back-up car and the back of the starting grid for Sunday's Kobalt Tools 400.

Jimmie Johnson has best single race loop data driver rating at Kansas

No other driver has earned a larger NASCAR Loop Data Driver Rating at Kansas then Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie's 145.6 driver rating in the 2008 Camping World RV 400 is the best rating ever here. Johnson's 116.5 average driver rating at Kansas ranks 2nd of the four drivers who have an average driver rating 100+ since NASCAR created the ranking system in 2005. The other three drivers are: Greg Biffle (118.8), Jeff Gordon (107.3) and Tony Stewart (105.3).

Jimmie Johnson had the highest NASCAR Loop Data Driver Rating in four of the last five races at Dover. He is the only driver with a 100+ Driver Rating over the last two races. In fact, Johnson has earned a 100+ Driver Rating in the last eight consecutive races at Dover. Three of his last five have been over the 140 mark.

Jimmie Johnson ran 55 laps, the most of all drivers, during practice #1 this afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway. Johnson was 36th on the speed charts with a speed of 178.737 mph. While not up on the speed charts running that many laps would indicate that Johnson and Knaus are happy with their car.
