Let’s Try This Race In Kentucky Again

Clint Bowyer got his first win of the season in Sonoma last weekend, out-dueling the likes of Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, and Jeff Gordon. All of the Michael Waltrip Racing teams had a good week and they are all having outstanding years. Michael will get behind the wheel himself this Saturday night when the series heads to Kentucky Speedway for the second time ever in the Sprint Cup series.
Quaker State 400
Jimmie Johnson: Jimmie is my pick to win this week’s race at Kentucky Speedway. Jimmie finished third in this race last season and runs very well on similar tracks like Kansas and Chicagoland. He had been running very consistent lately and I believe that he will have another good run on Saturday night.
Matt Kenseth: Matt retained his hold on the top spot in the NASCAR driver points race after last week’s race at Sonoma and has been very strong on the intermediate tracks this season. I think that he will give Jimmie a run for his money this weekend.
Kyle Busch: Kyle won the inaugural race here last year and will try and make it two in a row this week. He hasn’t had the best season to this point, but he still holds on to the final spot in the Chase as of right now.
Greg Biffle: Greg came away with a top-10 finish last week and moved back into second place in the standings. He will have a good car this weekend also and could get his second win of the season.
Tony Stewart: Tony loves to race at night and is coming off a runner-up finish at Sonoma. Tony has had good intermediate track cars this year and this weekend should be no different.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Dale is happy to have the road-course race behind him and will forget it in a hurry. He will look back on the dominating race he had at Michigan the week before and build on that momentum for this week’s race.
Clint Bowyer: Clint has been consistent all season and now that he has a win under his belt he will try and make it two-in-a-row. He is very good on this type of track and will have another good car under him this week.
Kasey Kahne: Kasey fought for every position that he got last week at Infineon Raceway and will be glad to get back to a track that he feels a lot more comfortable at. He had a great run at Charlotte earlier this year and this track is similar.
Jeff Gordon: After running out of gas last week, Jeff fought his way back to a top-10 finish at Sonoma. He has had terrible luck most of this year, but that could all change in a hurry on any given weekend.
Kevin Harvick: Kevin would like to get back on track after another disappointing finish this past weekend. This is the type of track that can get this team back at the top of their game.

You guys are full of shit. I waste my money on this shit and I finish p-33
Tim, I can’t find a paying member in the database with the email address you used for this comment (dontgetcaught@yahoo.com). Since you are commenting in the post of a race that has not yet taken place you obviously aren’t talking about this race. We welcome all comments positive and negative. A little something more helpful than mud slinging would be appreciated. You are giving the fine folks of the Beckley, West Virginia area (yes, WordPress captures your IP address) a bad showing. Tighten it up, son! Make better picks. If you are gonna just do a drive-by without adding anything to the conversation…well, grow up.
That was not only untrue, it was just rude and uncalled for, Tim.
My question is: How do you expect the news of Kenseth’s departure to affect his performance and his team’s performance in this race? I need to save my Johnson picks left and am not sure if this distraction will impact Kenseth negatively. Does anyone know the real reason for Kenseth leaving Roush and whether it was his choice or not?
Thank you for putting your opinions out there for the rest of us.
Roush couldn’t seem to sign sponsors for a whole season and consequently Matt Kenseth’s income was adversely affected. Gibb’s offered more dependable and higher income. In other words……..More Money!
I really don’t think that his leaving will make much of a difference, at least not yet. Last year Carl Edwards was to be a free agent after the season and was still given the best opportunity for that to happen before he resigned with RFR. I don’t know the real reason for Matt leaving, but I am guessing it is about money and sponsorships at this point. If and when Matt announces where he has signed for next season we will have to see if Roush keeps him in the loop or not. He might not be given access to some of the information later in the year, but if he is still competing for a title, Jack Roush will give him the best shot that he can, because it is still about the money.
Thanks for your valuable input. I guess now might be the time to use up some Kenseth picks in case they aren’t worth much later. lol Just heard there are strong rumors that he already signed with JGR.
Thanks again!

Hope I am not being a pain in the arsenal but was also wondering what you think about Brad Keselowski in this race? He finished 7th last year and had very good finishes here in the Nationwide races.
Thank you for supporting the site! I think that Brad is a good pick here. He has really been running well on the intermediate tracks and he has a lot more experience here than most of the Sprint Cup drivers because he has run here in the Nationwide series since the track was built.
